PS4 sold 320,000 units in Japan in two days

The PlayStation 4 sold 322,083 systems in its opening weekend in Japan, jumping easily ahead of the PlayStation 3, which moved only 88,443 units in 2006. The PS4's worldwide sales tally before the Japanese launch was 5.3 million. What's important to know is these numbers are from Famitsu and maybe should be taken with a pinch of salt until Sony confirms this.

One thing to note is that the PS4 could not match the PS2 allthough that is gonna be a feat considering the PS2 is the best selling console of all time. At the time the PS2 sold 630,552 units which is double the PS4.
Sony held a midnight launch event featuring speakers like SCE CEO Andrew House and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. The Xbox One is still yet to release in Japan.
