Microsoft Aquires Mojang For $2.5 Million

Swedish based developer Mojang famous for title Minecraft has been bought by Microsoft for $2.5 billion. In a recent, Mojang have said that the deal would not result in the deletion of Minecraft games and apps available on non-Microsoft devices. You can check out the full blog post below:

'Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft.

It was reassuring to see how many of your opinions mirrored those of the Mojangstas when we heard the news. Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It’s going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK. <3

Please remember that the future of Minecraft and you – the community – are extremely important to everyone involved. If you take one thing away from this post, let it be that.

We can only share so much information right now, but we’ve decided that being as honest as possible is the best approach. We’re still working a lot of this stuff out. Mega-deals are serious business.

Why did you sell Minecraft?
Minecraft has grown from a simple game to a project of monumental significance. Though we’re massively proud of what Minecraft has become, it was never Notch’s intention for it to get this big.

As you might already know, Notch is the creator of Minecraft and the majority shareholder at Mojang. He’s decided that he doesn’t want the responsibility of owning a company of such global significance. Over the past few years he’s made attempts to work on smaller projects, but the pressure of owning Minecraft became too much for him to handle. The only option was to sell Mojang. He’ll continue to do cool stuff though. Don’t worry about that.

There are only a handful of potential buyers with the resources to grow Minecraft on a scale that it deserves. We’ve worked closely with Microsoft since 2012, and have been impressed by their continued dedication to our game and its development. We’re confident that Minecraft will continue to grow in an awesome way.

Minecraft means many different things to millions of people across the world, and to each and every Mojangsta. We feel that this is the best way for everyone – you guys included – to benefit.

What about the other editions of Minecraft? Will they stop being developed?
There’s no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop. Of course, Microsoft can’t make decisions for other companies or predict the choices that they might make in the future.

We’re extremely proud of all editions and the awesome things you have achieved through playing together.

Is the game going to change? Will we still be able to make videos, mods, awesome builds, and all the cool stuff we’ve created over the past few years?
Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests.

What about the Mojang staff? What’s happening to you guys?
Though it’s too early to confirm which of us will continue working on Minecraft or other projects, we predict that the vast majority (if not all) Mojangstas will continue to work at Mojang for the time being.

The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving. We don’t know what they’re planning. It won’t be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool.

What’s happening to the other Mojang projects, like Scrolls?
We don’t know yet. We’ll share any news as soon as we do.

Will you still be able to tweet about features and interact with the community on a personal level, just like you’ve done over the years?
Yes! That’s not going to change.

How much money was the company bought for?
Microsoft acquired Mojang for a smooth 2.5 BILLION dollars.'

Sega Blames Gearbox For Aliens: CM

Aliens: Colonial Marines publisher has Sega moved to settle a class-action lawsuit to the tune of $1.25 million in August for false advertising for the game. They have decided to shift to marketing problems of the game to Gearbox Software, according to court documents obtained by Game Informer. Internal emails between the two companys reveal Gearbox aren't innocent as they seem. The documents indicate that Gearbox told Sega that the E3 2011 demo marketing represented what the developer was aiming for with the final game.
"During one of my conversations with Gearbox today I verified that the E3 Demo is indeed the bar that we should use to determine where the entire game will be," said Sega senior producer Matt Powers in an email to colleagues.

Gearbox's claims that it was not involved in marketing however Sega says that while it was supposed to have approval on all marketing and PR announcements, Gearbox repeatedly made announcements to press without Sega's approval. When confronted Gearbox told a Sega PR representative that Gearbox head Randy Pitchford basically does what he likes.
"I spoke face to face to (Gearbox) Gibson about their persistent panel leaking," said Sega's Matt Eyre in an email. "Effectively — it's Randy [Pitchford] doing whatever the fuck he likes. Apparently he did it twice on [Borderlands 2] also, against all plans and despite the fact they asked him not to."

Titanfall To Get Update Number 6

Titanfall's sixth game update will go live for Xbox One and PC players on Tuesday. There will be a host of new game modes including 'Pilot Skirmish' which which removes Titans and AI opponents completely from the battlefield. Other highlights of the update include new features for colorblind players, a new Burn Card, Auto Fill options for the Burn card menu, and other improvements

Here's the full list:

New Features (All Platforms)

Pilot Skirmish is the New Featured Game Mode - Pilot Skirmish is an 8v8 mode with no AI and no Titans. Due to the difference in player sizes with the rest of the game modes, Pilot Skirmish will not be among the game modes played when choosing Variety Pack playlist.
Marked For Death is Now its own Permanent Game Mode! - When we first introduced Marked For Death, we were planning to rotate it out for another mode after a couple of weeks, but the enduring popularity of the mode convinced us to bring it on full-time. There will now be a Marked For Death playlist to choose from, along with custom Marked For Death loadouts to unlock.
Added Modes for Colorblind Titan Pilots - Three colorblind options (protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia) have been added. They affect IFF glows, crosshair colors, and names above heads.
Pssst...wanna buy a burn card? - Black Market Daily Deals now include the ability to buy individual Burn Cards from a limited, ever shifting stock. These items are in short supply, so prices may vary.
Gambling is for Winners - Roll the Dice is a new ultra-rare Burn Card that gives you the ability to tap into your entire deck from inside a match. It's the Fabergé Egg of burn cards if you will.
Burn Card Auto Fill - Toggle the new Burn Card Auto Fill option in the Burn Card Menu and it will automatically fill empty Burn Card slots for you. Never fight empty-handed again.
Late to the Game - Joining late is no longer penalized. If you join a match that is more than half way over and your team is not winning, a loss will not be counted on your record. If the match is a win for your team, we'll count it as one. We've also added a warning message noting you will receive a loss on your record by leaving a match in progress.

Improvements and Optimizations

FX Optimizations - Optimizing effects processing and moving more effects rendering work onto additional CPU cores is a good thing. So we did that.
Matchmaking - Faster searching, improved team balancing, increasing the likelihood of being in full games, and drastically lowering the chance of having lopsided (e.g. 6v3) matches.
- The score is now shown in the center of the screen at the end of each Last Titan Standing round.
- New HUD Icons for team Titan counts and players using Burn Cards have been added. Last Titan Standing now shows the number of Pilots left alive on each team.
- New voiceover for Round Won and Round Lost events as well as noting whether the gap between the teams' scores is increasing or decreasing.

Gameplay Changes

- Titans no longer show up on the minimap when they dash.
- Atlas and Stryder melee damage values have been switched to mirror their original design intent. The Titan melee damage order is now: Stryder, Atlas, Ogre from least to most. This is also consistent with the hierarchy of damage for the Big Punch mod.
- To stem the influx of Burn Cards at higher levels, the Bonus XP-to-Credits conversion rate for max level players has been adjusted.
- As part of the pan-galactic stimulus package, credits for selling rare Burn Cards have been increased from 200 to 400.

Bug Fixes (All Platforms)

- For the Black Market we slightly reduced the chance to get rare cards in the Standard Pack, and increased the number of rare cards in the Premium Pack from 4 to 5.
- The Auto-Titan vortex effect should no longer orient incorrectly.
- Fixed the shotgun, vortex fireback, and arc cannon bypassing Titan shields when used against a Pilot doing a friendly rodeo.
- The map Export no longer contains areas where you can shoot through covered windows.
- Grenades should now be better at predicting their movement at high frame rates.
- Fixed a rare crash bug on Demeter in Campaign mode.

Bug Fixes (Xbox One)

- Fixed issue where a user couldn't sign in to Titanfall if there is a second account on the system which has access to Titanfall DLC content which the first user doesn't.
- Fixed incorrect leave game dialog behavior when in a party.
- Connecting a SmartGlass device to the X1 while Titanfall is running should no longer cause a crash.
- You should no longer be able to get behind walls when rodeoing a Titan that is ejecting on Relic.
- Titan OS no longer says that you are being attacked by an Enemy Pilot when you are inside an enemy Dome Shield.

Bug Fixes (PC)

- Fixed incorrect leave game dialog behavior when in a party.

Coming Soon in a Future Update

- New game modes including Wingman Last Titan Standing.

Beyond: Two Souls Could Come To PS4

Beyond: Two Souls could be coming to the PlayStation 4 that is if speculation is right. A list of Trophies has been released. Sony has yet to confirm if it is planning to publish a next-gen edition of the game, speculation has been rife since July when two retailers listed a PS4 remastered version.

The Trophy tracking games site Exophase has published what it claims to be awards for the PS4 edition. Beyond: Two Souls wouldn't be the first game to get a remastered release with the critically acclaimed 'Last of Us' getting a re-release on the PS4.
This type of release seems to be a growing trend with games like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and more recently Saints Row 4 getting a release.
