Alien: Isolation - Screenshots

In October, the chance to be pitted against an acid blooded creature that has been the cause of more than a few nightmares will be offered in the form of Alien: Isolation. Set within a world highly reminiscent and based of  Ridley Scotts 1979 film Alien, Isolation will be placing you into the shoes of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, as she sets out to investigate a possible lead on her missing mother, taking her to a space station that has descended into chaos.

Until then, a wealth of new screenshots from E3 have arrived showing an environment oozing with atmosphere and potential scares. The terrifying Alien itself is fully visible below, a horrifying figure of death that is joined by determined, and possibly just as dangerous, androids striding towards the player. A whole load of fire also features in many of the images, a substance that may be both a danger and a useful means of defense.

Alien: Isolation will be heading to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on October 7th.

New Wii U System Update

Nintendo has today announced a new system update is now available for Wii U, introducing changes that promise to enhance the user experience. The most notable change is the addition of a Quick Start feature for the Wii U GamePad controller. After the update has been downloaded, users starting Wii U with the GamePad controller can view the Quick Start screen, which features the icons of 10 recently used or installed games and applications. Users can start the game or software they want to use immediately without first loading the Wii U Menu. Quick Start is ideal for users who want to start playing games right away.

Some additional changes include:

· Users can now receive occasional visual notifications about new games and products, special promotions and more on their GamePad controllers. Users can adjust or remove alert sounds, choose whether to power up the GamePad when notifications arrive and even set hours when such visual notifications are prohibited (such as the middle of the night).

· System updates, in addition to being downloaded automatically, are now also installed automatically while the Wii U console is powered down.

· Easier Nintendo Network ID setup for new users.

· Notifications (different to notifications on the Wii U GamePad) can now be accessed from the Home Menu as well as the Wii U Menu.
