Home coming to PS4 and PS Vita

Indie horror game Home, originally released on PC and not long after mobiles, is working its way to the PS4 and Vita sometime this year.

Home is an atmospheric mystery game firmly set within the horror genre. As you explore the world, it will change and alter depending on your choices, creating your own unique view on events. Having played it myself, I can honestly say it is short, but very sweet and the less you know going in, the more your will enjoy it, and has been the cause of much dissuasion with friends afterwards.

Today, at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, we announced that PlayStation Now (PS Now), our new streaming game service, will be available in the US this summer. With PlayStation Now, you will be able to stream popular hits and classic games from the PlayStation 3 library, first on PlayStation 4 and PS3 systems, followed by PlayStation Vita.

In addition to PlayStation platforms, most 2014 US models of Sony’s BRAVIA TV line-up will support PS Now. Eventually the service will expand beyond PlayStation platforms and Sony devices, allowing you to stream PlayStation games across a broad range of Internet-connected devices.

Leveraging Gaikai’s advanced cloud-based technology, PlayStation Now will allow you to:

Stream full games to all of your compatible PlayStation devices including PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita as well as non-PlayStation devices, beginning with 2014 BRAVIA TV models and expanding to numerous other internet-connected devices.
Always play the most updated version of your game. With games hosted in the cloud, you can take your game with you – just log in with your Sony Entertainment Network account on a compatible device and your games and saved progress will be easily available.

We want to offer you choice when it comes to how you want to access content on PS Now, so you will be able to rent by title for specific games you are interested in. We’ll also offer a subscription model that will enable you to explore a range of titles.

Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass

Following the trend of many games now, Batman: Arkham Origins is getting a season pass which gives a glimpse at some of the DLC to come.

There are five packs to gain through the season pass, with a large chuck of the DLC up for grabs being skins. There are fourteen skins in all, resulting in plenty of choice when it comes to dressing Batman for beating up villains. There is the New Millennium and Infinite Earth skin packs, and two additional outfits exclusive to the season pass, the Gotham by Gaslight and Brightest Day Batman Skins.

Thankfully the season pass does not just contain skins, it also gives you the chance to play as Bruce Wayne on the challenge maps. Lastly, and I think most people will find best of all, their will be an all new story add on, although there on no more details on what this is yet.

The season pass will be £15.99 / $19.99, which is a saving on purchasing the DLC separately of about $10. I think that the season pass will prove its worth to Arkham fans through making Bruce Wayne a playable character, but largely once more details emerge about the story DLC.

Sony announces new PS Vita

Sony has announced a new updated PS Vita model titled as the PS Vita 2000. The new PS Vita will be 20 percent lighter and 15 percent thinner than the current console and will come with 1GB of on board storage. The redesign boasts a high definition five inch LCD display, rather than the current Vita's OLED screen. The new PS Vita will launch in Japan on October 10th with a retal price of 18,980 yen (US$190/£109) and will be available in 6 different colors: Black, White, Limegreen/White, Light blue/White, Pink/Black and Khaki/Black.

SCE said this in a statement:

"PCH-2000 series has been developed to be more casual and friendly for a wider range of users... In addition, a high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD) has been newly adopted for the 5-inch front display which is one of the PS Vita's greatest features.
SCEE's official line on a European release is that it's "not made any announcement about whether the 2000 series will be releasing in the UK / Europe."
"Thanks to the rapid progress of LCD technology in recent years, the new display provides users with the highest-level image quality, perfect for deep and immersive gaming experience that is at the core of PS Vita."

Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the PlayStation Vita can be used as a PS4 controller but only if the games are "specifically programmed". The bit of info came via Yoshida's Twitter account in which a user asked him the question.

Assassins Creed Rising Phoenix Images

Yet more Assassin's Creed info has leaked this time a PS Vita release. The game is titled Rising Phoenix. A product listing has been spotted on a Spanish website Xtralife.es. The product was later to be removed and we know when that happens that it is more than likely in the pipeline. AC Rising Phoenix was listed for launch on 10th October 2013 which is three weeks before AC IV is due to be released.

Further info has been leaked in the past week. A piece of artwork picture below appeared online and then yesterday another appear on All games beta. The recent image leak appears to be in game feature whereby the resolution actually matches to the PS Vita screen size.
