Mike's Quick Look at - Block N Load (Steam)

Hey Guys first of all I want to aplogise for a few technical issues during the recording of this video I am not sure what went wrong but I will try my best to prevent it from happening again.

So today I want to bring you A quick look of A really fun game from Jagex Studio A game studio who have kindly offered to help promote A retro Gaming Night For Alli the charity event that we are holding at the Centre For Computer History.

That Game is called Block N Load A really fun game that mixes the Comedy and style of Team Fortress 2 with the creativity of Minecraft in a 5V5 team based FPS. Creating a really unique and funny game that is currently in the process of going free to play.  with  a big re-launch due which I have been told will bring you a tone load of fresh content adding more crazy Shinanigans it seems a great time to go and check this cool game out!

So hear is my terrible attempt of trying to play this game like a complete noob on a PC FPS after spending way to long playing console shooters while trying to use a key board.

Thankyou for watching and I hope you enjoy the vid!

The Breakout A point and click Indie adventure!

So as we have just announced that we are having a Play Expo Blackpool week were we cover as much of the stuff we saw at the expo over the next week the first thing we are covering well after the traditional shaky cam vid is The Breakout. A point and click adventure targeted at the older gamer who may remember the classics like Money Island from its first time round and are looking for a more challenging point and click adventure that still keeps all those classic mechanics of the old point and click adventure games but with a more modern feel then this game is for you.

The Breakout is a game developed by Pixel Trip Studios and is currently in its last stage of fund raising over at kickstarter and looks to be a promising and great looking game. The visual style of this game is right up my street and as i have mentioned before I am a big fan of High quality  indie studios getting more support and coverage so as part of that check out my vid of the demo then if you like the look of the game why not call over give these guys a quid or two and help a good studio develop a good game I will put the link below here so go check em out!

FIND OUT HOW FAR YOU CAN GET!

So if you liked the look of this game now take into account my nonsense commentary is not in the game so that works in its favor then click kickstarter.

Valve announces new operating system

Valve recently released the first of three planned announcements on the evolution of Steam and the direction they plan to take it in for 2014.

They're calling the new software SteamOS and it will be their very own operating system built around Valve's digital distribution service Steam. Based on Linux with a heavy focus on giving the gamers control over content, SteamOS is a further display of Valve's efforts to get PC gaming into our living-rooms. The developers previously responsible for the likes of Half-Life, Portal and Left4Dead make this announcement at a vital time in gaming history, with the next generation of Sony and Microsoft's massively successful consoles just a few months from launch. It seems as if Valve is trying hard to contend with the gaming giants, and if their immensely popular games become exclusive to their own system, they may actually stand a pretty good chance.

This year's three news items are expected to show huge progression since 'Steam Big Picture' launched only last year: a Valve application enabling Steam gamers to play using their own TV, specially optimised for gaming controllers. Because with news of this brand new operating system to work on 'living room machines' Valve fans are intrigued as to whether one of the two remaining announcements will confirm Valve's very own living-room machine, the highly-anticipated but still only rumored 'Steam Box' console.
