Double Fine say goodbye to legend

Double fine studios have said goodbye to one of video gaming's legends Ron Gilbert.
Ron Gilbert is one of the all time legends in video gaming classics. Ron is best known for his Adventure games . While working for Lucas arts Ron worked on several popular titles like Manic Mansion, Indiana Jones and the last crusade graphic adventure and the hugely popular The Secret Of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2 Le-chuck's Revenge as well as many others great titles. Two years ago Ron went to work at Double Fine studios with long time friend and work mate Tim Schafer taking the title of "Official Ron Gilbert"

Now that that games is finished Ron has decided that it is time to move on but from the sounds of it he still intends to remain in the video game development industry having wrote on his Grumpy Gamer blog.

"Now that The Cave is done and unleashed on an unsuspecting world (OK, we did do a bunch of PR, so it wasn't exactly unsuspecting), it's time for me to move on from Double Fine and plot my next move.
While he worked at Double Fine Ron co developed and released The Cave a Game that he had been thinking about making since his earliest days in Video game development.
So many games left to be designed. I want to thank all the amazing people at Double Fine for all their hard work on The Cave. It was a true pleasure to work with every one of them over the past two years. So much fun. I will miss them all. And of course to Tim for creating the opportunity to come there and make the cave."

So although it looks like Gilbert still plans on making great games its no doubt that he will be greatly missed by all the guys at Double Fine studios.
