First Screenshot Released For Next COD

An image detailing a high textured character model has been released showcasing what to expect in the next COD game which is due for release this year. The image was revealed at GDC 2014 and was released by Sledgehammer Games to IGN

.
The image above was first shown at a panel entitled Quest for Quality: Maximizing the Relationship Between Creative and Production, and had people speaking from Sledgehammer Games. Call of Duty this year is the first in the series to switch to a three year development cycle, adding Sledgehammer Games to a cycle where it would normally switch between Treyarch and Infinity Ward.

Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg recently had this to say at a press conference "Obviously in the console-transition year, anyone who developed a cross-generational game last year had to deal with the fact that the technology of the next-gen platforms was still coming into focus and changing quite a bit during the development process, Now that we have the next-gen hardware out in the marketplace and solid, that is our primary development."

Nintendo Confident of Thrid Party Support

The Xbox One and PS4 are just around the corner, but whilst excitement builds for them, don't forget about another console already out, the Wii U. The Wii U has not been doing to well with sales since its launch, and this may largely be down to a lack of third party titles. With the new Xbox and Play Station just over a month away, its not looking like it will get any better, but despite this Nintendo seems to remain confident in their console. Speaking with Forbes, Scott Moffitt, Nintendo’s EVP of Sales & Marketing for Nintendo of America, stated that 'We’re confident that we have the games necessary—both first- and third-party—to have a strong holiday season and expand the audience for Wii U'. Its a viscous circle, the reason people may be not by buying the Wii U is because of the lack of third party games, then these game fail to come to the console because of the lack of sales. Hopefully through Nintendo can turn these slow sales around. Besides having an, in my opinion, amazing line up of exclusives, such as Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, the Mario games, Super Smash Bros and Pikmin, they do have a few third party games on the way this holiday season, such as Batman: Arkham Origins, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag and Call of Duty Ghosts. Their not missing out on everything then.
