Club Nintendo Closing Down
Nintendo has announced that it is closing its popular service Club Nintendo. The Club Nintendo service started off in Japan in October 2003 and eventually went over to the UK (replacing the VIP 24:7). Each region will be shutting down its service in a different way although Nintendo is also working on a yet to be detailed replacement loyalty programme.
Europe
Product registration cards no longer added to packaged software from April 1.
Digital games bought on eShop no longer registered from April 20.
Club Nintendo to end on September 30. All features, including spending earned Stars on catalogue items, will cease.
Users who move to the new service (to be announced) during the launch period will receive Flipnote Studio 3D for free.
Current Club Nintendo members are advised to spend all their remaining Stars before September 30. New items will continue to be added to the catalogue in the coming months.
America
31 March is last day to "sign up for a Club Nintendo membership, register products, complete surveys, register for a warranty extension, earn Coins, and qualify for Elite Status.
Last day to select a 2015 Elite Status gift (to be confirmed) is April 30.
Last day to redeem Coins for rewards or downloadable games is June 30.
Last day to redeem Club Nintendo download codes in the Nintendo eShop is July 31.
All Club Nintendo members to receive a free download code for Flipnote Studio 3D (exclusive to Club Nintendo) in February 2015.

Sony Offers 10% PS Store Discount Following Hackings
PlayStation customers have been offered a 10% discount on the PS Store for a limited time, as part of a peace offering following the PSN downtimeover the Christmas period. The discount will run for four days, valid from January 23-26 (starting and ending at 9am Pacific in the US, and 9am GMT in Europe). Exclusions apply too, with PS Plus subscriptions, Music Unlimited and video rentals not eligible for discount. Sony has also said that they plan to extend anyones network subscription by five days "You will receive an email in the coming days with a confirmation of details about the extension,"

Free-to-play Pokemon Shuffle Coming To 3DS
Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Shuffle, a new free-to-play Pokemon-themed puzzle game coming to 3DS in February. The games announcement was made during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on Wednesday. Nintendo statest that "Pokémon Shuffle finds players putting their puzzle-solving skills to the test by matching three or more Pokémon in the Puzzle Area to deal damage as they battle wild Pokémon across a variety of stages. Clearing Pokémon efficiently is the key to success. Players can download and start the game for free and purchase in-game items using Nintendo eShop funds".
The game seems to be using the typical free-to-play model with micro transactions being heavily embroiled within the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse Delayed

Dragon Ball Xenoverse has had its launch date pushed back! The game was set for release on February 17th, the game will now be coming out a week later.
Publisher Bandai Namco announced the delay. They said the reason was to "ensure the highest possible gameplay experience" for players. Dragon Ball Xenoverse is coming out on the Xbox 360,PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 24. The Pc release is due on the 27th.

Majora's Mask Pre-Order Showcased
PS4 Sales Reach 18.5 Million
Sony has announced that they have sold more than 18.5 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide. This is up from 13.5 million at the end of October 2014. The number of consoles sold is up to January 4, 2015. Sony also revealed that it now has 10.9 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, which is up from 7.9 million at the end of October 2014.

The Elder Scrolls Online Delayed On Consoles
The Elder Scrolls Online will has been delayed on the PS4 and Xbox One. Bethesda says the console version will release sometime in 2015. Originally TESO was to launch in June 2014, two months after the PC version was released. Bethesda said it needed about six more months to get the game working properly on PSN and Xbox Live. Bethesda states that it wants to bulk up the game with a Justice and Champion systems before it is released.
Alien: Isolation Updated
Alien: Isolation has released a free update which will bring forward an even harder difficulty setting. Nightmare Mode as it is called makes Amanda Ripley's motion tracker less reliable, whilst distorting the display. The health meter, ammo count, and flashlight battery indicator have all been removed. Enemies more aggressive, resources more scarce, and the map system has been disabled. Along with Nightmare mode there is also a Novice mode which makes the game far easier thus being more forgiving towards the player. More resources and a dumber AI are promised.
