Tom Clancy dies aged 66

Tom Clancy the espionage and military novelist famous for titles such as Splinter Cell has passed away in a Baltimore hospital on Tuesday night, aged just 66 his publisher has confirmed. Tom Clancy became a house hold name thanks to titles 'Red October' and 'Patriot Games' which went on to make Hollywood blockbusters. In 1996 Clancy co-founded Red Storm Entertainment which was famous for their release of Rainbow Six before later being acquired by Ubisoft. Since Ubisoft's purchase the Tom Clancy brand went on to make highly successful game series such as Ghost Recon. What remains to be seen is whether Ubisoft can continue to associate the name to their games with 'The Division' set for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2014.
